Lark Street charm
New York's state capitol, Albany, is at the heart of the gay-friendly upstate New York. This area is full of small gay bedroom communities like Hudson, Saratoga Springs and Troy. Though it has a small town feel, the Capitol District is home to an open-minded population, partly due to the thriving art scene and local university. Most of Albany's gay nightlife takes place either downtown or on busy Lark Street.
