Patti LuPone, one of musical theatreâs most beloved leading ladies, returned to Broadway in 2017 with a Tony-nominated performance as cosmetics pioneer Helena Rubinstein in "War Paint." LuPoneâs Broadway career accolades span decades, and include the Tony Award for her leading role in "Evita" (1980) and the Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle awards for her performance as Rose in the Broadway revival of "Gypsy" (2008).
Her autobiography, "Patti LuPone: A Memoir" (2010), was a New York Times bestseller that shared the intimate story of her life both onstage and off â through the dizzying highs and darkest lows â with the humor and outspokenness that have become her trademarks.
